| 675489 | 2008-06-04 07:30:00 | The results of the Government's 2006-07 health survey - made public today - "It also provides a snapshot of physical discipline, revealing at least one in 10 children aged under 14 had been physically punished by their main caregiver in the previous four weeks. But few parents supported physical discipline - only one in 22 felt it was effective. Even among those who had used it, only one-third felt it worked. Survey interviews were done both before and after the repeal of section 59 of the Crimes Act, commonly known as the anti-smacking law. Children aged between two and four and Maori and Pacific children were more likely to be physically punished." Don't the supporters of the referendum to repeal the anti-smacking Bill claim that 80% of kiwis are opposed to it? Martynz |

As we got older, we noticed neither parents does any more physical discipline. Well, the mum does the occasional ear-pinch. I think that's a habit. I'd like to believe they don't see the need for such physical discipline as we got older because we're more behaved and know right from wrong - something the next generation would have no clue of if their parents don't smack them to the right direction. |

I'm no fan of it smacking my kids at all, But the anti-smacking bill, The satan-whore who write it up, and every other deluded fool who think its the right of the government to interfere on that level can burn in hell. |
