807894 2009-09-08 04:29:00 Intel vs Asus/Gigabyte - never done a build with an Intel board. Asus and Gigabyte both have 3 year warranties, I wouldn't go past them. Someone may have some actual experience with Intel boards though...all the older Intel boards I've worked with were annoying and more often than not dead, I don't know about their newer stuff.

Yep, good call with the G45. Pretty much any cooler will do, most of those aftermarket coolers are targeting the overclocking market, so when you want to do either no or a mild OC, you are going to have a very effective cooler that is nice and quiet, cause it's working no where near it's potential. That one looks like a good buy, you ought to be able to have it hovering around 1100 - 1300rpm, it would be barely audible at that speed.

807895 2009-09-08 06:01:00 I found I could cool my old E6750 at stock speed passively using a TRUE120. It does get hot doing Prime95 - mid 60s I think it was. So if you're only getting an E5200 then I'm sure it can be passively cooled using a TRUE120. qazwsxokmijn (102)
