675652 2008-06-05 01:49:00 So, will you be leaving your sign on here for the ex? SolMiester (139)
675653 2008-06-05 01:54:00 You will rebound Greg. Half the male pupulation is or has been in similar situation - I was some 25 years ago and whenever I look back at the final days before the split I reckon she did me a favour - good clean start as long as you have your health and skills. Mine took half of the mortgaged house value, then half of my superann savings, half of the business value then half of the car value and half of the motorbike value which all added up to her taking about 4/5ths of all portable cash. Good luck.

What I don't get about this setup is why they don't also get half your dirty washing, half your beer gut, half your collection of bad clothes bought cheap from Farmers, half the junk you filled up the garage with and half your boozy mates who left all those dodgy stains on the sofa.

It doesn't seem a very fair split of halves ....

675654 2008-06-05 02:04:00 Well after tomorrow I might not be posting here for a while. My ex won the first round of legal actions yesterday and I'm being turfed out of the house, plus I now have a f****** Court Order against me to ruin my impeccable police record. :(

Not only do I have this on my record, I've got no place to go, nor the money to pay to move out even if I did. In all likelihood I'll get arrested before the weekend and face a few months behind bars. Very nice laws here in NZ.

A court order? I take it your ex really likes you then?

675655 2008-06-05 04:19:00 Damn Greg! :( Some justice system...

Was it cos you represented yourself? What was the argument that she used?

PS: Wratterus definitely has the right idea

Basically yeah. I just didn't have the talent to adequately defend myself. Her arguments were that essentially I psychologicaly abused her. Judge summed up by saying that each individual action (unproved but evidential) was trivial, but in all amounted to a series of abuse, according to the Act. This was stuff like me calling her names and insulting her since the separation process begun. Stupid me.

Court was asked for me to be ordered to attend an anti-violence counselling programme or non-aggression piece of rubbish, for no other reason than to put the boot in after I was down. Judge declined to order it saying I wasn't a threat or danger to anyone.

Go figure.

Thanks all for the words of support. I'm going through the worst days of my entire life, so the comments are much appreciated.

675657 2008-06-05 04:37:00 Man, what the woman say about you this time?

Just let us know if there's anything we can do Greg.

675658 2008-06-05 04:43:00 Calm down - An order and a criminal record are 2 separate things.Yes you're right of course. However... once I don't move out having no place to go to, I'll be arrested, charged and when found guilty of breaching the order - well then that's a criminal record :( Greg (193)
675659 2008-06-05 05:09:00 Sounds like hard times Greg, Give me a yell if I can do anything for ya.

As you now know everything now counts against you in the eyes of the court, A family member had an assault charge laid against him for slamming a car door.....every confrontation (even if its not a confrontation) makes their case stronger, and if they are keeping a journal then your basically ****ed. If she tells the court she's scared of you then it will get a lot worse.

Blimmin heck Metz - thats exactly how it is here. The biggest thing her lawyer played upon was me once slamming the fridge door! ***!

Thanks heaps for the support man.

The only winners when something like this happens, is the lawyers, as you will probably find out.

Good luck with it all.
