678210 2008-06-13 21:32:00 I got a letter from Sky yesterday promoting their HD service. And surprise surprise you have to pay yet more money to get it. Their two special options for existing customers at this stage are to go with "Ticket" or "Second Decoder" As I already have MySky (Outlay of about $600 at the time I got it), I can have a second MySky HDi Decoder and keep my existing one and they will install it to another room. The Multiroom upgrade is $49 plus $25/month. First 4 monhths free multiroom. The "Ticket" option is they swap the decoder for a MySky HDi also $49 and then an extra $10/Month. ("i" part of HDi they say is Internet Capable.) Bantu (52)

678212 2008-06-14 01:49:00 I think Skys My Sky is a total rip-off. You pay $600 for it and you don't even own it. I'm a Sky customer and will stay with my basic decoder. Yes I do have a HD TV.

678213 2008-06-14 01:55:00 Looks like everyone in Geekzone is getting a MySky HD. Must still be allot of money around.. or geeks without lives.. paulw (1826)
678214 2008-06-14 01:55:00 I think the MySky was a great purchase, albeit a rental price. Similar in price to my Sony HDD/DVD recorder but a LOT easier to use in both recording, playback, EPG etc etc etc.

Anything that I definitely want to keep (some documentaries) I can either feed it through to the HDD/DVD Recorder or directly to my PC from the MySky. I will probably opt for the MultiRoom and keep the MySky and the MySky HDi I think for now.

678216 2008-06-14 02:55:00 I do believe the only channels that sky will broadcast in HD is sport and movie. Will any of the other channels be upscaled? plod (107)

I don't recall having any problems. Mind you my memory is not as it used to be.

Yes they say in the letter movies and sport. I don't do sport but I do movies. In time it will ALL be HD on all channels including Freeview, Sky etc etc just a matter of patience in the meantime.
