| 677470 | 2008-06-13 01:52:00 | Thew thread is called Petrol prices Not Global warming. Please stick to the topic. True. Yesterday the price of 91 octane fuel went up to $2.12 / liter. The price of oil closed at around US$137 per barrel today. That's about $1 higher than it was at May 22 when it reached $136 and the price of 91 octane at the pumps went to $2.00 / liter. Why the big price increase?? Between May 22 and now the price of oil went down to around $121 / barrel at the end of May but did we see a price drop here.?? No of course not. The oil companies will have the best reasons in the world why it should never go down only up and unfortunately that late motorist advocate from the NZAA now seems to be backing the oil companies and not standing up for the motorist in this.. Why does the news media point out these oil price drops instead of swallowing everything that the like of BP say?? |

They then put it up an additional 6 cents a few days later. Then Shell who didn't do the second rise, put it up 4 cents. This will mean that the other petrol comapnies will probably drop their prices by 2 cents. The end result will be a 10 cent rise this week, which is what was expected . I guess they do this to give the 'illusion' of competition. | robbyp (2751) | ||
