677015 2008-06-11 04:35:00 After all the press that has been around about Apple being out of stock of iPhones for the last month with the pending release of the new 3G iPhone anyone who did go and by one last week assuming they could actually get one would be as much of an idiot as the idiot that wrote the article.

There you go.. we are all idiots who dare question mac fanboys.

Ken

PS Do the Mods know vitalstatistix is Winmacguy in drag??

677016 2008-06-11 04:41:00 I wasn't attacking you kenj I was pointing out the inaccuracies of the article you posted bearing in mind that 1st gen iPhones have been scarcer than hens teeth over the last month as Apple let the distribution channels run dry- possibly due to a mis calculation on how fast they would sell out in the run up to the 3G iPhone release. vitalstatistix (9182)
677017 2008-06-11 04:43:00 I reckon someone needs to organize the first annual Pressf1 charity boxing competition, where users who, um, don't see eye-to-eye can go a few rounds in the ring with all proceeds from betting to go to charity.

We'd see some epic match ups.

Are you saying Bruce Simpson is an idiot then? Scary that! He is one clever dude. He probably is like most of us and hasn't the time to waste trawling for iphone availability. I must confess, I had not read any press on their inability to supply their products. But then I also don't know how Nokia, Ericsson, or anyone else have in stock either.

There were updates on Forbes Business, Yahoo news and iSupply which can give a guide. Nokia and Ericsson are in different situation in that they don't clear out inventory channels 2 weeks prior to a new product being announced or if they do then they would alert their retail channels - Apple just keeps you guessing.

For the record, Russel Brown of Radio bFM and http://www.publicaddress.net/ fame is a lot more accurruate in his news.

677020 2008-06-11 05:12:00 You're quite right, Ken. I read something a couple of days ago on another forum where somebody asked "Why do people buy new Macs two days before WWDC?!" to which someone else replied "Because the general public don't know or care about WWDC". It's the same situation here; although there have been rumours, the general public doesn't know when Apple is going to announce new products. Nermal (7077)

677022 2008-06-11 05:25:00 WWDC is a developers conference rather than a product release conference like the January MacWorld in San Francisco so it is highly unusual for Apple to announce a product at the WWDC although there was a lot of web based hype surrounding a pending release date of the iPhone. It just happens that the release of the iPhone SDK 2.0 which is taking up about 80% of the developer interest at the WWDC coincided with the announcement of the iPhone itself. Apple and the mobile phone suppliers are running discounts and rebates to existing legit iPhone owners who wish to upgrade.

Nothing wrong with buying a Mac before the WWDC.

C'mon, tell us what WWDC stands for . You are waiting for us to ask . :yuck:

Any thing to do with that World Wrestling program on TV? They used to call it WWW or something, but people confused it with the internet .

Ken :)

It was WWF, and people confused it with World Wildlife Fund
