If the light stays on on the floppy drive (and nothing happens) you may have put the cable on backwards on the floppy (the red stripe on the cable needs to go to pin 1 side on both motherboard and floppy drive !).

Take a PC with M.S. Windows and a floppy drive , start computer , put floppy into drive , open Windows Explorer , right click floppy icon + choose format disk , a window opens in that window tick "make M.S. DOS start disk" (probably located at the bottom) and click start.
Then follow previous instructions.

809118 2009-09-18 00:48:00 Under the option for "First boot device" what options can you choose?

When you said in "hard disk priority" bootable add-in cards was there, was it listed as the first option?

809119 2009-09-18 00:52:00 thank you so much, that is why you are a member and im just a junior member. lol ok so, now that this floppy is my boot up disk with dos, when the bios asks me for the files, i can direct it to the dvd i burned with the three files right? cuz instead of using a floppy i used a dvd disc, is that cool? i thought since i was gonna be using the floppy to boot into dos i thought that i would have to take it out and then put in the the one with the three files and then that would mess things up. so did i do good or ?? art789 (15230)

If you got your BIOS flashes you did excellent nomatter which way you chose to do it....

With respect to the "Member" vs "Junior member" I think that is only a matter of how much one has participated so don't let that "fool" you "

809121 2009-09-18 01:00:00 i just tried making the bootable dos floppy disc and after it formatted it and stuff it said this:
A:/ is not accessible. the volume does not contain a recognized file system. Please make sure that all required file system drivers are loaded and that the volume is not corrupted.
so im going out right now to buy a new floppy disc, i think the one im using is crap. be back in a few.

You may also have a bad floppydrive , it happens from time to time.... (my own is actually quirky and needs replacement !)
Since I can understand that you haven't actually flashed the BIOS yet then I just need you to tell you that I'm not sure that the Windows formattet DOS systemdisk will contain CDROM drivers so you might not be able to access files saved on a CDROM by booting on such a floppy , so you better copy the 3 bios files to the floppy also and use them from there.
I'll have to sign off for today... I might possibly pop-in tomorrow to see how things have gone. Good luck and hope that things work our for you.

809123 2009-09-18 02:50:00 in the HARD DISK BOOT PRIORITY place it gives the hard drive as the first one and then the bootable ad-in card as the second one. i just made a ms boot disc with the new floppy i b ought , ill let you know how it went. art789 (15230)
809124 2009-09-18 02:57:00 So change the boot order so that the add in card is the first boot device and connect the hard drive to it.

Make the second boot device the other one and connect the optical drive to that.
