678231 2008-06-15 21:27:00 Hi Bantu, thx for the info, I have a HD TV and are awaiting news of HD sky...I was wondering if you need a new decoder ( mines old but digital)...I dont mind $10 extra a mth for HD...

You pay a startup fee of $600 for the My Sky decoder which you don't own.

678232 2008-06-15 21:53:00 Sky are greedy.. When the whole world is moving to 16:9 format, They decided to charge for The Rugby Channel in 16:9. I may be a cantankerous of pr**k, according to SWMBO, but because of this, I cancel the sport channel when the rugby stops. Then I quite often forget to have it put back on at the beginning of the season. The probably lose more than they would gain if they played it right and didn't try to rip you off all the time.

:punk to SkyTV As soon as the last test is over between the ABs and Aust, Sky can stick their over priced Rugby channel where the sun dont shine! As far as their HD price, they can also jam that as well!

678233 2008-06-16 00:04:00 Was just on the phone to sky, i can rent the mysky box @ $15 a month and the HD content will cost $10 p\mth.....subscription on top of that!
Or as already stated $599 for the mysky gdi box then $10 for hd content then sub....!

This will take some arm twisting of the wife to get HD on sky i'm thinking...

So sky want either $600 up front or a rental of $10 a month and then a monthly fee on top of that to receive HD content.
For that I would insist that every movie/sports event is broadcast in HD.

678235 2008-06-16 05:20:00 The rental is $15+ $10 HD content+ Sub SolMiester (139)
678236 2008-06-16 07:45:00 I was told Tv3 in HD is going to be available in HD without the $10 Fee. But then You will end up paying $599 or you will still have the $15 rental on top.

$15 extra for one HD channel? I don't think so..

althought I believe they won't offer Tv3 on its own. Most likely Prime will be in HD by then.

678237 2008-06-16 09:36:00 Yes Sky don't give to much away on there website about the cost of My Sky. In the help menu there is a FAQ and one of the questions is how much is My Sky. The answer is $599 joining fee and for other costs ring Sky.

678238 2008-06-16 21:04:00 Question: If you are on the basic plan, no movies or sports and you go to HD will you just pay the extra $10 for HD service or will sky now force you to get the full sports and movie packages as well which would make to move to HD very expensive..?? paulw (1826)
