676948 2008-06-12 02:05:00 Hi Rob* When you get settled and have your favourite listening spots, try a USB FM Sender from Dick Smiths - about $40 or so. Little bigger than a pack of cigs, I have one plugged in to USB and can listen to programmes on any radio in the house or outside workshop as they are broadcast from my computer. Really great for BBC's old Goon shows and such like while I'm out in the workshop. Scouse (83)

676950 2008-06-12 06:32:00 I agree with some of the reviews, however like most things you need to know "how to drive it". Like all WEB radio stations, there is the buffering process before you are locked into any particular station. I found the factory buffering default was set to (6), so I shifted it to the max (8), and bingo stations were coming in. As far as the manual insertion of WEB radio stations, it is obvious you must have a URL that is compatible with the specs, i.e. mp3 or WMA. As soon as I shifted the buffer control to 8 from 6, it all worked. The LED screen is not a problem, it has brilliance dimmer control. Most WEB radio stations are mono anyway except for a few that are internet radio only. I have a little Philips stereo FM transmitter that broadcasts on the FM Band and can be received by my home theatre system, or any other radio around the house, e.g. bedside clock radio, car radio and so on.
Food for thought ! It will take me a while to digest, ponder and try out this.
Good to get the knowledge !

676953 2008-06-12 21:41:00 www.pandora.com was an AWESOME site, you could type in any artist you like, it would play a song by that artist and then enqueue random artists of similar sound, it was a great way for me to discover new music that sounded like the stuff i already like, unfortunately they've added security to the site so that only the US can use it because of the laws in place. It detects your IP is from new zealand and says you're unable to use the site... anyone know how to spoof me a US IP ? xD mOOseCaNNoN (13319)

The rest of the site is pretty extensive as well, Boatloads of news, twice a week. Pity their forum had a massive exodus a few years back and seemingly never recovered.
