808537 2009-09-14 06:02:00 OK, in case anyone later searches on this thread looking for an answer -

Apparently you have to specify a multizone setting on devices that handle copyright material before you buy them. If you do that, and it turns out to be not multizone, you can request a refund.

*sigh*

808538 2009-09-14 06:57:00 Updating the firmware will put it back to the factory specs. Sweep (90)
808539 2009-09-14 06:59:00 Yeah, I'm a bit afraid to do that - haven't been so daring before - I could fry Himself's optical drive, which wouldn't be a popular move. However, I think I'll have a go once we've used up all 5 changes. annie (6010)
808540 2009-09-14 07:02:00 I wouldnt wait till you run out of changes. I dont think updating the firmware would fix it or reset it. Since its windows that picks up the changes not the dvd itself. Speedy Gonzales (78)

808542 2009-09-14 20:35:00 Thanks everyone, I'll contact Ascent today and see if they can help me sort it out, then I'll have a go at other fixes. annie (6010)
