808497 2009-09-10 06:32:00 Can Windows 7 even run from a USB drive? To the best of my knowledge, Windows (every version) doesn't support this. I'm pretty sure the only way you are going to get this to work is if your BIOS is capable of emulating a HDD rather than exposing the drive on the USB bus.

You can install windows *from* a flash drive - this is a different process to what I was talking about above.

Microsoft says its not possible, but its reasonable straight forward to get around this for XP, but I've tried it with Vista and 7 before and its *not* for the faint hearted!

I wouldn't recommend it either....running an OS off a flash drive will seriously wear it out!

But from your original post it seems you need to install W7 OFF a flash drive correct?

If so, you use either of these utilities:
www.askvg.com
wintoflash.com

(You will require a 4gb flash drive BTW)

808505 2009-09-10 11:36:00 If this is Win7 it must be different from Vista. In that case, I wouldnt know if its meant to be there or not

Since you were asking for a key the other day, is this a legit version if it is Win 7?
