677095 2008-06-12 06:49:00 That isn't any better or less complicated than doing it in iTunes.

How is that a good point? Can you read my 2nd post? It says I DONT use VLC to manage my music.

I use ONE program that monitors everything automatically. So using a 2nd program is now confusing? Man, you Mac users really are simple...

And I can maximize my programs too!

677096 2008-06-12 06:57:00 Given that this is a thread about the new iPhone and its availability, would it not be better to create a separate thread to debate the merits of iTunes and other music management software? maccrazy (6741)
677097 2008-06-12 07:04:00 Does the fact it doesn't do PXT or that it can't be used as a modem bother any potential buyers.
Although I don't do many PXT's, I still use this feature and with a better quality camera I would be more inclined to use it. Also the lack of video recording, not fussed about video calls.:2cents:

677099 2008-06-12 07:17:00 The lack of a decent camera definitely bothers me. 2MP with no auto-focus and no flash places puts the camera well behind the competition. It seems a shame, because other than that the iPhone outperforms others in most other areas. maccrazy (6741)

Not quite true there plod
www.apple.com - You just take a photo and email it.

I would say that there will be someone will develop a way to use it as a modem.

If I wanted to email I would have said email. If I was to but one of these, how many people do you think would a) have a phone capable of email b)actually have email set up on it c)would give a **** about email via phone anyway.

I have a feeling that we are way ahead of the US in terms of texting and pxting which is possibly why the features are not yet included in the iPhone.

I was quite surprised to see some of the comments about the 3G iPhone over at MacRumors.com - 400+ comments and they aren't all overly favourable at this stage

With Vodafones high data rates, people wouldn't be able to afford to use 3G internet, unless they dramatically reduce their prices. It doesn't have video calling anyway, so you wouldn't need 3G for that.

677104 2008-06-12 08:55:00 It now seems that Vodafone New Zealand will not offer a prepaid version as they are going to in other countries. Despite Apple and Vodafone's press release stating that there will be a prepay model, I noticed last night that the wording on Vodafone's website suggests it may be contract only

Ugh. My dad wants an iPhone on prepay, so hope it's still doable.
