| 809196 | 2009-09-19 00:08:00 | ok i just booted up from the floppy after i added the last file for bios, cuz i removed that ebd cab file. and it sort of worked. i put all thre bootable devices to boot from floppy in the cmos settings, BUT, it said that it couldnt detect on my hard drive a FAT PARTITION, so it wants me to go back and make a FAT partition i guess so it can run DOS??? im not sure, anyone care to shine any lite on this please? adn then it asked me for the windoes 98 disk 2. so thats it. be right back. gotta go kill a mouse!!! eeek!! | art789 (15230) | ||

At this point you only want to flash the bios I believe. You don't want a fat partition. Boot off the floppy and I think one of the three files for the BIOS was a filename ending in .bat So when you boot off the floppy you should be at a prompt that looks like. A:\ > At that prompt type the name of the batch file which should auto run the command to flash the BIOS. |

| 809198 | 2009-09-19 00:17:00 | If you are flashing a BIOS - the operating system doesn't really come into it. The BIOS is on the Motherboard. A windows 98 Boot Floppy will say that message if the OS is formatted in NTFS. |

| 809200 | 2009-09-19 02:01:00 | yea. i did install my windows with a quick NTFS when it gave me that option in installation. hey. i was thinking, do you think if i installed windows vista that i could just ignore this bios thing and it would have the option to choose to boot from the card from the bios?? do you think vista's bios would have that option? so as not to have to go through this whole ordeal, i mean, i dont care having vista. i got the disc. |
