2009-09-18 22:04:00 | i have all of the windows 98 OEM files for booting into DOS, i think its like 18 files in total. or do you need me to write each name down? | art789 (15230) | |
2009-09-18 22:19:00 | Listing the 18 files will be helpful, or even taking a screen shot and you can upload that to PF1's http://www.imagef1.net.nz/ This way nothing gets removed by mistake. | wainuitech (129) | |
2009-09-18 22:22:00 | sorry if that sounded like i gave attitude, i just had to switch computer that had the floppy drive on. so here are the files that are on the floppy: SETRAMD.BAT, README.TXT, RAMDRIVE.SYS, OAKCDROM.SYS, HIMEM.SYS, FLASHPT.SYS, FINDRAMD.EXE, FIDISK.EXE, EXTRACT.EXE, EBD.CAB, DRVSPACE.BIN, BTDOSM.SYS, BTCDROM.SYS, ASPICD.SYS, ASPI8U2.SYS, ASPI8DOS.SYS, ASPI4DOS.SYS, ASPI2DOS.SYS. AND THATS IT. we can take out the read me file right? or do i need it to tell the computer to do stuff? hope this helps.

2009-09-18 22:25:00 | That looks right. Just reboot and change the bootdisk to the floppy. And let it boot. And put a BIOS on it, (and the program to flash it with), if you want to flash the BIOS | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |

I don'i have a floppy here to test it but from memory there would be two or three hidden files. You definitely need command.com and io.sys and I think there is one other which will be hidden. If you don't need access to the CD drive to flash the BIOS you can delete all the files you have listed and the floppy will still boot. |

2009-09-18 22:35:00 | ok. so your saying i can delete the any file that that has the word CD in it right? so that means OAKCDROM.SYS is out, BTCDROM.SYS is out, and thats it, is that right? hey, what about ASPICD.SYS? does that count too?
