678322 2008-06-14 03:06:00 after being away for a week an leaving it unplugged like most of the other appliances in the house the damn thing appears to work all the lights work and the menu items work but it just WONT HEAT........the manual is pretty basic

does anyone have any ideas or knowledge about these things.......maybe they've gotta fuse in the bck or somethin ?........

It's less than two years old but i cant find the damn receipt so getting it repaired even under the CGA might be fun........

678324 2008-06-14 13:35:00 I have repaired an old microwave (dont remember the brand, sorry), it had blown a slo-blow fuse internally, but that one stopped going completely when it blew so that may not be your problem, at a guess I'd say the magnetron unit (www.gallawa.com) (the bit that propagates the microwaves) has died, thus the oven is poked.
If you're taking it apart, be careful of the large capacitors in the power supply, they store a lethal voltage  , I would recommend professional attention.

678326 2008-06-14 19:37:00 Make sure it isn't in "demo" mode. This is when it does everything except heat. I'm not sure how you would get it out of demo mode, but try setting the clock etc.

The microwaves at work occasionally (and mysteriously  ) end up in this mode and you think your lunch is being heated, but it is not. They are not Zip microwaves and for them you push a combination of keys to get it out of demo mode.
