2009-09-14 08:18:00 | Hi There, I am using 64bit Windows 7 Ultimate edition which according to cmd > winver is version 6 . 1 or build 7600 . The version of Firefox is 3 . 5 . 3, which is current I think . Now for the issues: Whenever I start Firefox it comes up with "this application is already running, please close it and start a new process" or something like that . It does this every single time I start Firefox, expect for the first time when I load up Windows . This is a pain, I have to ctrl > alt > delete and then close "firefox 32*" in the processes . My homepage is Google, say I google "New Zealand" and then want to click a result and load it . It will come up with the results, normal, but it won't load any of them . I have unistalled Firefox, tried the newest version, even an old version but nothing seams to fix it . I've done all my Windows Updates, ran my antivirus (AVG and ESET) and they find nothing . No other application does it - At the moment I'm being forced to use Internet Explorer 8, which honestly after a night of using is enough to send me away in a straight jacket! So, I'm at a loss as to why it is doing it . From what I've read, no one else is having this problem - Lucky me!! Any help what-so-ever would be great, Cheers Hamish! :thanks

2009-09-14 08:36:00 | you don't need to AV's, stick with eset. | GameJunkie (72) | |
2009-09-14 08:46:00 | Only one antivirus as they conflict | gary67 (56) | |
2009-09-14 09:26:00 | Could also be something wrong with the Install - where did you get the Ultimate RTM from. The reason I'm asking is it could be a faulty download of the ISO file. | wainuitech (129) | |
2009-09-14 09:37:00 | Grab the 64bit version: wiki.mozilla-x86-64.com And as noted in the above comments, 2 antiviruses will conflict and can cause huge slowdowns and issues, so I suggest you remove one(AVG). Unless you mean AVG Antispyware, which you can keep. Blam

2009-09-14 10:19:00 | Hi There, Thanks for the replys! The only reason I use two antivirus applications is that AVG picks up things ESET misses and the other way around, so I've removed ESET and left AVG on there . I removed Firefox and did a disk clean up and then ran ccleaner . I've then installed the 64bit version of Firefox, which I have tried before, and it seams to be okay . Having saying this, it was fine for a day or two last time I installed it and then all the issues come back . But so far, so good! If any issues come back - I'll post again . Thanks for the help, Cheers Hamish :thanks
