2009-09-12 22:40:00 | Is there any conversion package out there that I can load (Windows XP) to convert incoming Open Office documents to Word 97? | dveitch (6045) | |
2009-09-12 23:04:00 | Open in Open Office & save as Word97/2000/XP (.doc) | snoopy (74) | |

2009-09-13 00:28:00 | Or get the plugin (www.sun.com) and read them directly in Office XP edit whoops that won't work for you, as you're using office 97, I could have sworn the question said you were usingg office XP, must be senile

2009-09-13 10:13:00 | Thanks for the responses. Obviously I don't have Open Office so the responses from Snoopy and Karameadave won't work. And, as Nigel edited into his response, the plugin does not work for Word 97 - it crashes. So, last try, media-convert does work and will be fine for the rare occasions I need it. A built-in converter, like the docx to doc one I have, would be nice but not really a necessity.

2009-09-14 06:46:00 | Yes am thinking of ditching Office altogether on my new Win7 machine and going with OO and Tbird for email. Is there a calender function anywhere for free that allows use of tasks and scheduling though like the Outlook one does. Needs to be desktop i.e. not Google calendar | gary67 (56) | |
