809362 2009-09-12 07:22:00 I swapped out a nVidia FX graphics card with a dodgy fan, and put in a Ti4200 on my media player. When I went to plug in the S-Vidoe cable from the TV, I notice the Ti4200 S-Video connection is different to the FX(I think it was 5200 or something like that) card.

How many S-Video connections are there? The Ti seems to have 10 holes in 3 rows, whereas the FX had the normal holes around the outside with the locator hole.

809363 2009-09-12 07:31:00 Theres 3 here (en.wikipedia.org) 4, 7 and 9 pin. I've got a 4, 6, 7 and 9 pin here Speedy Gonzales (78)
809364 2009-09-12 08:13:00 plus...some are not a true s-video. you must use the included cable with the video card, it won't work with a standard s-video cable. tweak'e (69)
809365 2009-09-12 08:27:00 I picked the card up off TradeMe about 2 years ago. It never had a cable with it. Back then I had no intentions of using the S-video

Ok, heres the scenario, I have this card, which I need to connect to an old type (CRT) TV. The card contains a variant of S-Video, the normal CRT monitor connection, and DVi.

Now, how best do I connect them?

Or I buy a new fan/cooler for the PCI FX5500 card I took out (which I don't really want to do but may have to)

809366 2009-09-12 12:39:00 Further investigation leads me to believe I probably need something like this.

Anyone know where I can get one? I am pretty sure I don't have one, but will confirm later

809367 2009-09-12 13:46:00 The connector on the Ti4200 is most likely a proprietary connection and it would have originally come with a break out cable that most likely had composite, s-video & component video connections on it. CYaBro (73)

I saw this link on google and for some reason thought the auction had closed
But yeah, that looks like the cable I need.
Mine looks very much similar with the same indents in relation to the 2,4,3 lines of connectors

I am hoping problem solved :D
Thanks :)
