| 679725 | 2008-06-19 09:49:00 | Once upon a time...long long ago...in a world far far away...we had a Hutt Valley Energy Board........... ..............and our house was wired for "off-peak" storage heating with its own meter and ripple control...... and it was wondrous because they charged us only half the rate of full time power.............and we gladly accepted that sometimes that circuit would be switched off for the good of society......... Then this evil demon Bradford corrupted our fair country, and with false words and forked tongue promised we would all live in a cheap electrical Utopia. Progressively the evil powers increased the off peak charges, and cunningly and progressively renamed that supply with weasel word names, until today both the full time supply and what was the off peak supply cost the same and both are called "Household Composite". Yet the evil ones can still turn off our power at will. Maybe it is now time to rewire everything to the normal supply..................... I'll come round any bypass the meter for ya if you want :P |
