To all those people who are downloading multiple copies FTW, you know that only one download per unique IP is counted through the placement of a tracking cookie?

679420 2008-06-18 05:44:00 Mozilla only counts downloads once per PC - in order to have your download counted more than once you need to use different PCs. pcuser42 (130)

Mozilla only counts downloads once per PC - in order to have your download counted more than once you need to use different PCs.I got Firefox 3 (3 .0-1.fc9) presented to me as an update today for Fedora. They package the files themselves as RPM's so I guess a huge amount of Linux users are not being counted as having downloaded Firefox. Many other distros complie their own Firefox installers as well and offer them via their own package managers.

No speed problems at all downloading it that way.

679422 2008-06-18 23:06:00 If they only count one per IP, I hope they took NAT into consideration... ubergeek85 (131)
679423 2008-06-19 04:44:00 They counted it by a cookie system, so it allowed for several PCs on the same internet connection. (And indeed, you could download it once per browser on each PC (or virtual PC). :D) pcuser42 (130)
