678804 2008-06-16 09:22:00 I started off on slingshot a year or two back, was great with that 25gb deal. Then the big restructure. After that it just went completely downhill and has never recovered. Slower then dial up speeds, poor CS, no contact etc

New contracts will not change my opinion.

So I switched to Xnet as well.

SS's dial up is ok (I was with them on dial up for over 5 years), but not their broadband. Too many disconnects and far too unreliable, and the Commerce Commissions report would back that up too.

678806 2008-06-16 09:37:00 I wonder if this "generate positive buzz in local forum" was his own initiative or if he was instructed to do it.

Going to look real good every time someone googles slingshot plans......

My feedback,

Yes, as said the feedback wasn't quite what I expected. Clearly some bad experiences in the past for several users.

I'm in a position to make some changes, so will definately take on board what's been said. For example, I agree the online help system needs work.. If we answered the question first time, it would save time (and money) for both sides.

Have noticed in several other places the demand for more data continues as well, so we've decided to use other initatives than simply increasing the size of data caps (the usual answer).. to a Terabyte referral campaign among other things.

Once again, wasnt looking to spam here.. simply looking for discussion on something I'm involved in.

rob_on_guitar is right. Over the last year or more I have found Slingshot's website a pain.

And what if our friends also know how crappy Slingshot is and don't want to join up? There's no way I would ever drag my friends through the morass that is Slingshot .

And anyway, more people on your network would only slow it down even more . How about actually upgrading your network and providing proper customer service before taking on even more customers?

Instead of giving your customers what they want- i . e . a larger data cap (unlimited might not be realistic), you turn them into nothing more than uncared for, overcharged, working for free marketing/sales agents for your company .

Wow, good job .

678811 2008-06-16 11:02:00 I was with slingshot last millenium, it was not too bad then.

Now, going by your website I am not sure what age group you are aiming at.

Quite definitely, I will be staying firmly with Xnet.

678812 2008-06-16 11:20:00 You guys are being pretty harsh on the guy aren't you?

I joined slingshot a year back and it was awful

Maybe harsh on him, but really Slingshot have only themselves to blame . If only they answered their phones in a timely manner, read and answered emails, kept the speeds they advertise and kept in touch when there were problems, they would have had happier people . Instead they pretty much did the opposite .
