809691 2009-09-13 06:00:00 It's talking about the resizing operation, and the changes to your partitioning scheme that occur as a result. The way the Ubuntu installer works is that you can abort it at any stage prior to that massive warning and it won't touch the disk.

Tell it to go ahead and install, and it will then resize the disk and install ubuntu to it.

Don't interrupt it, and yes - it can take a while, because you are resizing partitions. The more data you have on it, the longer this operation can take.

I have to vanish for a bit - will be back in around half an hour, and will check this thread as soon as I return.

809692 2009-09-13 06:03:00 TYIA and I am resizing as we speak.

Sorry that F1 is so slow - it's the ads that are causing latency all over the place. A page takes about 90 seconds to "paint" now with them on it.

That's ancient (2.5 years old) - I'd recommend upgrading to 9.04 (current version), but be warned that something will probably break if you try it - Ubuntu updates aren't terribly well tested, and have a track record of causing problems, especially when updating a system that old.

809700 2009-09-13 06:45:00 I installed Ubuntu 9.04 and also Linux Mint 7 and I do like Linux mint better than Ubuntu. ronyville (10611)
