809509 2009-09-14 06:54:00 Oh that's right, you have to install most of those programs yourself through Windows Live... Agent_24 (57)
809510 2009-09-14 07:57:00 I've seen the Vista calendar it seems you can't add things like appointments to it or birthdays that sort of thing which is why I have stuck with Outlook for so long> I use the appointment function all the time I can be forgetful at times. But I want something similar for Win 7 gary67 (56)
809511 2009-09-14 08:29:00 Last time I saw the Vista calendar you could add appointments to it - would be a pretty pointless calendar if you couldn't!

It should be able to do birthdays too

But maybe there is a plugin for Thunderbird that gives you functionality the same as Outlook...

809512 2009-09-14 08:46:00 Been looking at Sunbird stand alone supposedly imports from Outlook but I can't get it to work. Whatever I use will need to import from my existing Outlook gary67 (56)
809513 2009-09-14 08:52:00 calendar has a new calendar, appt, task and group option. So, cant see why you couldnt add appointments. it'd be pretty stupid having a mthly calendar, if you couldnt add anything to it. It looks exactly like OL's calendar Speedy Gonzales (78)
809514 2009-09-14 08:55:00 So I would just download a calendar from MS live. Not going with windows mail though will use Thunderbird probably gary67 (56)
809515 2009-09-14 09:09:00 Yes am thinking of ditching Office altogether on my new Win7 machine and going with OO and Tbird for email. Is there a calender function anywhere for free that allows use of tasks and scheduling though like the Outlook one does. Needs to be desktop i.e. not Google calendar
There is a calender addon for Thunderbird. Lightning which is similar to Sunbird.
