Usually you download a .NET Framework Runtime installer (< 1 MB) which then downloads the actual runtimes (about 20 MB (www.microsoft.com)) which can take a while, especially on a fresh install of XP.

678859 2008-06-17 04:58:00 Can either be saved in a format that’s readable by other programmes?

I’m thinking if you need to exchange drawings for others to view, not necessarily edit.

I'm only 99% sure, but I'd confidently say JPEG/GIF/PNG would be export options from either program. I do know that InkScape's native file format is SVG (en.wikipedia.org) and although mainstream support is only just making progress by way of modern web browsers, it would be THE standard vector file format.

678861 2008-06-17 10:31:00 With Creative Docs you can export as: PDF, JPEG, GIF, PNG, TIFF, BMP, ICO.

It saves as a .NET document
