| 680726 | 2008-06-21 03:45:00 | Beginning to wonder about them............. Son signed up to Naked DSL couple of weeks ago with Snap. Once it finally got connected - and there was some glitch initially - I found his speed is a blistering 352kbps.He's 1.3kms from Te Atatu North exchnage which is ADSL2+. My own broadband at home is off an old Conklin, never to be upgraded to adsl2 and I get between 400kbps and 1.2mbps. First Snap guy - Simon - was very concerned and logged it with Telecom as a failed install. Nothing happened all week so I checked today and was told the "tech went out to the exchange and the line sync was down so he reset the port and left." Fault now closed. Speeds are still the same. No-one contacted my son except to hassle about his new bill. Asked why he wasn't contacted and why they didn't follow up on the fault, couldn't tell me. He (Jonas) did tell me though, that ADSL2+ is not being sold in this country and therefore he couldn't expect to get ADSL2+ speeds. Uhuh. |
