811520 2009-09-18 01:17:00 Hi all i have a young fella who has recovered a 120gb hdd from his damaged laptop. I have put it in an encloser in trying to access the josh folder the message says access denied.

he has a program called Reason 4 install and needs the files for a project he is working on.

Is this XP or Vista?

Here's some instructions, the process differs a wee bit between operating system but this will give you the basic idea.
It's very important to make sure the *Replace owner on subcontainers and objects * box is ticked when taking ownership.

811523 2009-09-18 03:17:00 I am using XP pro have followed MS instructions but not getting very far i right click folder then Properties but no Security tab all i have is General, Sharing & Customize
