810827 2009-09-18 03:15:00 Exactly the same fault. It started playing up again not long after it came back but it was very intermittent. Since then it has developed to making the machine unusable. My point is that if they tell us the problem was fixed and it wan't then surely they must be under obligation to fix it for free. If they didnt fix it first time then the money they charged should be refunded. They are the experts and have the diagnostics tools - if you take your car to the garage and he guesses at the problem and changes something that turns out to be the wring part do you just accept that ?

Your case is one of those 'tricky' ones possibly handled poorley by the repairer, after it refailed.
They should have had another look at it (no intial charge) and possibly give a refund since it wasnt fixed-at least refund the RAM.

but...
Its not the service centres fault that you have a INTERMITTENT and therefore hard to trace fault.
You did refuse a re-image(??) that they recommended
They initally did what was reasonable(replace the RAM). It just didnt work out for anyone in this case.

All in hindsight...and without hearing the techs story
