7) No commercial posting, spamming, or otherwise using the forum to promote products and services purely for your own gain.

No, sorry.

But now you have mentioned you have a game for sale, people can PM you if they are interested. What was the name of that game again?

681837 2008-06-24 08:16:00 Ah, Silly me, I failed to recognise mejoebloggs flogging off his used game as a commercial entity.

As for the Mods,Off with their heads lest they use the judgement and common sense that got them their position in the first place.

681838 2008-06-24 23:49:00 No, sorry .

While it would be great to allow a long term regular member like yourself to put up "for sale" stuff post, it would be very hard to regulate with new members deciding that this was OK as well . Where would you draw the line?

But now you have mentioned you have a game for sale, people can PM you if they are interested . What was the name of that game again?

Joe, it has been discussed many times before about having a "For Sale" forum on PF1 and it was decided this was not a viable option . It isn't just the spammers to keep under control but also the risk that if a sale went bad or someone was scamming, then would FairFax be drawn into the disagreement?

You may not, I understand, put up anything for sale unless, of course, it is February 2008 and your name is Metla . :groan:

Never mind that he was stirring - as is his wont - a "for sale" notice is a "for sale" notice, but it seems he was not asked to desist - or at least not immediately . Was everyone aware he was stirring? Possibly not .

And speaking of consistency, the moderators need to be consistent . I understand that, so I wonder why his "for sale" was allowed to continue for as long as it did?:illogical

681839 2008-06-24 23:57:00 I'd imagine it was just to annoy you, Though even I have no idea what the forsale sign you refer to was about, So I'm impressed that someone with 13 posts not only took noitice but filed it away for future mention.

Personally,I'm a big fan of just letting the mods do what they do, and rolling along with whatever they come up with, I'll let others try and tell them how to run the place.

It was a PC for sale, but as it has now been removed from all your posts I cannot give you details. You should remember. After all, it was your "for sale" notice. Long on stirring, short on memory?

Only having a few posts does not diminish my ability to read and retain. I just don't comment all that often, but I felt I could not let that pass.

I managed a rise out of you :groan: (not unexpected) but I wondered why no response from you, Jen?:)

Probably looking for the world smallest teacup.
Metla (12)
681843 2008-06-25 00:36:00 I'd suggest against getting in a public arguement with Metla, especially with as few posts as you have. He's got more friends, and whether or not it should, it matters.

Just a word of caution is all.

681844 2008-06-25 00:39:00 Now she will be looking for the worlds most ridicules teacup. Metla (12)
681845 2008-06-25 00:45:00 meanwhile, I'm still looking for the world's smallest violin .

the mods are consistent, but we also try to make this place as nice as possible for you . That's why we're not instantly reaching for the banhammer when someone asks if they can advertise something for sale here .

now play nice .
