683607	2008-06-29 04:41:00	Ok . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . this may dribble on a bit, but it is driving me nutty . :( 6 - 8 weeks ago i have new neighbours move in . 2 weeks ago, i go into hospital, have op, come out and have been surviving home alone, recoperating, slowly and badly . the hosp operation was on a friday . on monday morning i get a lovely phone call from the dog pound . saying they have had multiple complaints about my dogs barking , distrubing the neioghbours sleep . First i heard that my dogs bark . i was bed ridden at this stage, and told the ranger im sick, been in hospital, recoperating, blah blah blah i will do what i can . I moved the dogs from their new flash dog run i had built before the neighbours moved in, cost $$$ and many hours and black fingers . and some words . i got them a new kennel . . . . . . this too had to be moved . . . . . . ( no lifting for 6 weeks . . . . . . . pfffffffft) i then had problem, they found it easy to jump my back fence, so i tied them up . they dont bark much, By friday that first week, i had 3 more phone calls and a visit from the pound . my dogs are healthy, registered,, chipped, and pedigree dogs . nice and fat 15 month old labradors . who it seems are houdinis . . . . . . . they go for a run, and come back to mummy . the dog ranger explained to these neighbours what was happeneing and that i was taking steps to rectify the problem . My children went outside to play, in my back section . they were making noise, and the dogs barked etc, normal silly kids and play type noise's . New neighbours came out back door and tore strips off my children, and abused them, and they came inside ear bashed . They no longer go outeside to play or even stand by or on the fence like kids do . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . watching the world go bye . my daughter walked down to her friends house . . . . . . . . . . . . . . some one came out the front door and abused her and said she was breaking into their car? she swapped sides of the road to get to our house coming home . The children went to get the cat off back fence . early before school, my son hid in my garden so when they yelled at him, he couldnt be seen . apparently the also bang on the fence and abuse the dogs when they make any sound . on this monday, i had another call from the pound . he is emailing the pound daily, saying my dogs bark . i went to the neioghbours on my other side, they say they never hear them, and the have a rottweiler . he barks they admit . went to the nieghbours on other side of neighbours from hell, they say, nope dogs hardly barkd or only for a reason . Wednesday, i have now moved them to back of house, awaiting time, and better weather to make a new run . The dog ranger rang . daily complaints . from same neighbour . friday i rang him . . . . to say i had bought more fencing stuff, but really not up to doing it by myself . can they be patient i am trying to fix prob . over the weekend i went off and got some more trellis, attached this to the fence, to stop houdini, and low and behold 2 mins later . . . . . . . they over in a new spot . and the whole time i out there in the rain and wind doing something i shouldnt be, the neighbours from hell stood at back door and watched me . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . they also saw the dogs jump the fence and me go retreive them . . . . . . . . . . . . So i actually go back to work tomorow, after 2 weeks sick leave . . . . . . . . . have 6 weeks no lifting or physical activity etc . . . . . . . . . . . had to stuff that one on the head as i have no help . But i feel no matter what i do, living in my own space, keeping my nose clean and not being a horid neighbour that i am being harrased by these people, who have 5 or more living in this house, and none of them work . So if i get number 6 + phone . . . . . . . . . . . will they take my dogs away? I have done my best, i have run out of time, and money to fix the problem, and am not really physically able to do as much yet, i get tired so easy and the pain of being in the cold isnt nice . any suggestions? I do beleive over this really grotty weather weekend the dogs may have barked . but up till now, not much at all, and not continuos . the frustration is . . . . . . . . . . . . And i would be the first to admit if they were a problem . . . . . . . . . . . . . but these neigbours have complained about all the dogs in the immediate area . they have not shown any neigbour niceness not even been over to say hey they bark . they just abuse us and my children are scared of them . help . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . beetle	beetle (243)

683609	2008-06-29 07:26:00	It seems to me like you're being the victim and not taking the correct steps to stop your tormentor from, well, tormenting you. Gather voices from your other neighbours and ask them if they would make a written/oral statement that states your dogs are not as much of a nuisance as the neighbour from hell claim them to be. My own neighbour did this when he still had his two German Shepherds, who nobody else had a problem with but his neighbour 3 doors away. If you have proof that this neighbour abused your dogs, animal welfare officers or the SPCA a call, and see if they can do anything. I'm not sure if the police would do anything, but you might want to try telling them that this neighbour is making them feel unsafe and uncomfortable in their own neighbourhood.	qazwsxokmijn (102)
683610	2008-06-29 21:29:00	They are verbally abusing your kids for no real reason. That's not ok. :groan: If it was me, first thing I'd do is get someone like Metla to go and have a nice chat to them about it. (You must know someone...):p If that doesn't work, call the cops and explain the situation. They sound like people who will ***** and moan, to make themselves feel good. How 'friendly' are you with your other neighbours? Maybe if you need a bit of backup for your story (if you end up going to the cops) you could get one or two of them to mention something, or get a written statement. And if they are renting, definitely talk to their landlord.	wratterus (105)
683611	2008-06-29 22:07:00	Your dogs are fine . Surely the people at the pound are as sick of hearing from these people as you are? You're not really in any state right now to be working on a fence trying to please the unpleasable . Have you tried to talk to these people? I'd probably be too timid to do it myself, but it might help . And from how it sounds it couldn't make it much worse .	Thebananamonkey (7741)

683613	2008-06-29 22:53:00	As far as the dogs are concerned, I'd be tempted to leave them with a good friend for a week. Move them out in the dead of night making certain that no-one sees you remove them, then wait for the complaints to continue. I would not tell anyone that they have been removed - including the dog rangers - for at least a week. If the complaints do continue, advise the dog rangers that you have removed the dogs and yet the neighbours still complain - even after a week! Hopefully that will put them in their place! And, if it's any consolation, there are some people that are born to complain. I don't know why. We had similar neighbours some years back. Thankfully they have moved out. 683614	2008-06-30 01:38:00	If it was me, first thing I'd do is get someone like Metla to go and have a Bad bad idea, If that was done it would just esculate the matter, Either immediatly or after the "hired help" left. I don't have any great advice apart from keeping a written record of the crap, Untill they break some laws they are within their rights to make life miserable for everyone they meet.	Metla (12)

683616	2008-06-30 02:19:00	Gee Beetle I have no idea how to remedy the problems with your neighbours but in the event you had access to a video camera you could make a film for evidence as regards the children. I like the idea from Roscoe. That seems to make sense in that it would prove that false complaints are being made if that is what is happening. Personally I live where there is a terrier across the road and I hear it very often. This one barks when any person walks past the front gate of the owner. But it is a watch dog I would think. Maybe tell the rangers that you feel unsafe and this is why you need dog(s). Or you have neighbours from hell etc. Generally speaking your dogs can't be taken away unless they are roaming, have bitten some person or you are not feeding them. Probably time to send the dogs next door so you do not need to feed them for a week or two thus saving money for fencing. Do the best you can to contain dogs within your property which it would appear you have already done.	Sweep (90)
