683404 2008-06-28 21:53:00 And we thought WE were hard done by
Rogers and its Fido wireless unit said they were offering voice and data plans ranging in price from C$60 ($59) to C$115 ($114) a month for the iPhone, a price that includes unlimited Wi-Fi access at Rogers and Fido hotspots.

The top-end C$115 plan will buy 800 weekday minutes for voice calling and unlimited time at evenings and weekends.

It will allow users to send 300 text messages and have 2 gigabytes of data usage -- something that Rogers says is enough for about 1 million text e-mails, or 16,000 Web pages, or 7,000 photo attachments.

By comparison, U.S. carrier AT&T has said it will offer unlimited 3G iPhone data plans for $30 a month in addition to voice plans that start at $39.99 a month.

Everyone would like to say "**** YOU" to Rogers/Fido for screwing our iPhone Canadian dream with poor data/voice plans

683406 2008-06-29 00:09:00 Ever heard of plagiarism vitalstatistix?

If you are going to copy and paste from a journalist's article, then you should give them credit for their work or note your source.

I also cannot understand why you have posted a link to a online petition for something is only for Canadians?

Please keep all related iPhone discussions/articles to the one thread rather than making a new thread each time you find one on the net.

683407 2008-06-29 00:13:00 I wasn't intending to plagiarise Jen. Just pointing out that we aren't the only ones hard done by when it comes to data plans, the Swedes and Norwegians are discovering the same issues.

My apologies.

683408 2008-06-29 00:18:00 Don't forget most European telco's paid a fortune for 3G band licenses.
And they have to get that back.

That did not happen in NZ.

Apart from the existing plans that are on their site I don't think that they have made any special annoucements.

683411 2008-06-29 01:30:00 Probably some crappy old M$ product. They may make a dollar or 3 out of that. The only ones that will maybe? Doesn't matter if they don't, they make plenty anyway.

I gather the plans on the site are new plans but I don't know if they include the iPhone or not.
