682003 2008-06-25 03:06:00 An Australian man has discovered security vulnerabilities in his Internet-connected coffee maker that could allow a remote attacker to not only take over his Windows XP-based PC but also make his coffee too weak.

What a crime. Not the take over of the PC, but the weak coffee. Coffee *drool*:crying :drool

682006 2008-06-25 04:08:00 Did he check that the security holes weren't just the strainer leaking a bit? I find it a bit hard to feel any sympathy for someone with one of these doohickeys . :yuck:

The farce is with him tonight, unless the item was due for publication a bit earlier, about 2 months and 24 days ago .

682008 2008-06-25 08:36:00 Ever heard of home automation?

We sell a product that does lighting control / automation and can be controlled via a web server. Just imagine a hacker hacks the web server and starts controlling your house!

Lights turning on and off, blinds going up and down, home theater starting at 3am, multi room sound turned on at full blast...

682009 2008-06-26 02:06:00 Hilarious!!

I wonder if you can hack the coffee maker in such a way as to jam the water on indefinitely or something....

682010 2008-06-26 02:25:00 I want to get one of those machines, just to try and hack it! Turn it on just before you leave work - sh*t, I hope I put a cup under the outlet... wratterus (105)
