812653 2009-09-22 02:38:00 I wish to have a program start on boot-up in Windows Vista.
Can not find a "Start" folder or any means of doing this.
Always used to be a Start folder in the User folders and/or system/system32.
How can I add an entry to msconfig/start?

Could someone enlighten me?

812654 2009-09-22 03:35:00 Run a program automatically when Windows starts

Click the Start button , click All Programs, right-click the Startup folder, and then click Open.

Open the location that contains the item to which you want to create a shortcut.

Right-click the item, and then click Create Shortcut. The new shortcut appears in the same location as the original item.

Drag the shortcut into the Startup folder.

The next time you start Windows, the program will run automatically.

812656 2009-09-22 06:16:00 What a performance.
Couldn't find the 'start' file or 'Documents & Settings' because they were hidden.
Removed the 'hidden' & then 'access denied' because the files belonged to the system! Had to 'take ownership' as Administrator then I was allowed in.

It all used to be simple

812657 2009-09-22 06:28:00 You can also click on the orb down the bottom / right mouse / explore all users. Click on startup on the left / then in the right window / new shortcut. Add the program this way. You do the same for XP Speedy Gonzales (78)
