811612 2009-09-18 20:02:00 Have tried using the Windows Movie Maker and Windows DVD Maker in Vista and also have download updates for both, but am having ongoing problems.

Thought it could have been corrupt files transferred from my digital Handicam, but have tried a different selection of holiday clips and it makes no difference.

DVD makers starts to encode the files then reports there has been an unexplained error anywhere between 2% and 21%

Movie Maker just freezes part way through creating a movie from the files.
If I am asking them both to make movies from too many files I would expect them to indicate that.

Is there a better movie making program out there or is there something that is interfering with these windows programs, ie: Avira anti-spam or similar program?

Thanks

811614 2009-09-18 20:48:00 There seems to be two types of files for each video clip, one is .modd and the other is .mpg

Think it is the .mpg that is dragging and dropping into both DVD programs OK -
