683619	2008-06-30 23:01:00	Some people can be so unreasonable . . . we have 2 German Shephards next door and they do bark but not excessively (mind you dogs do bark) . We like having the dogs around as hopefully they would discourage burglars . One neighbour who complained to the council about the barking (which wasn't excessive), went around the neighbourhood to get support for "his cause", but we had no reason to complain . Dog control would soon be onto people who complain about dogs barking at the drop of a hat . Hopefully in your case, they take the neighbourhood view and not just one obsessive neighbours complaints . Good luck . I know that neighbour problems can be really stressful especially when you have just come out of hospital .	dolby digital (5073)
683620	2008-07-01 04:40:00	Beetle, Sure, barking dogs can be annoying but you have every right to have your dogs on your property . Provided they dont bark constantly day and nite (which they dont by the sounds of it) What irks me is the verbal abuse they have dished out to your kids . If someone done that to my kids I would be over there is a flash, and I can guarantee it would NEVER happen again . If you dont like the hard approach then I would start playing their game . ie: Make sh*t up . Police certainly wont take kindly to people who threaten violence on children . If these neighbours are prepared to concoct stories then im sure you can do the same . A variety of stories will have the cops round in a flash, including *Violence against your kids or you *Peeping Tom complaint *Trespassing *Poisoned meat left for the dogs which your kids could then have touched/eaten . Certainly not a difficult feud to fix in my opinion . . . The fact is they moved into YOUR neighbourhood and therefore abide by the status quo until they become functioning members of your neightbourhood . Cheers Veale	Veale (536)

NZ is full of softies like Banana and Bletch . There comes a time when diplomacy fails and one must take measures into their own hands . Beetle, your neighbours have certainly not extended any courteousy to you so why should you extend any to them . The big kicker is the harrasement of your kids . There comes a time when diplomacy fails and one must take measures into their own hands. Beetle, your neighbours have certainly not extended any courteousy to you so why should you extend any to them. The big kicker is the harrasement of your kids. The rulebook goes out the window then in my opinion…. Mess with my kids and I assure you it will not happen again!!!! Veale If someone's harrassing your kids, harrass back, sure. Just don't get the cops involved unless you're serious. Otherwise you deserve everything that comes to you. You've just got to play by the rules or some crap. If she did what you suggest, regardless of what the cops did about it, she'd just be opening the door for one of those "nightmare neighbour" type scenarios. Stand and fight or enjoy the next x amount of years under the thumb of your neighbour (which could be banana for all we know) . I couldn't give two hoots to be honest, I have merely suggested a solution which is more than the other posters have done .
