682874 2008-06-27 04:53:00 Maybe I missed the official announcement . . . but today I just discovered that I can get a street-level view of my own home, the streets surrounding it and almost all the streets in Hemet and San Jacinto . . . . if I left the door open I'd be able to look right inside the living room .

Kewl is not a good enuff word!

When did this happen? Was I out for a while and the anesthesia just wore off?

I tried it on a few friends' homes . . and one or two had their garage doors opened and I could see my tool box in one of them . . and another driveway had my Isuzu parked in it . . and that hadda be just last week too .

WOWIE!

682877 2008-06-27 05:04:00 Assuming this is Google Streetview, they have been running their cars around Auckland and Christchurch for a while now.

As for google maps, yep, they've mapped out most of NZ :)

682880 2008-06-27 05:22:00 Hi Joe. Have you got a swimming pool? I read this week in a British paper that local gangs of youths are using this facility to seek out backyard pools and then invading them - often in the middle of the night - and leaving drink bottles and other junk in them. Great facility.... Scouse (83)

Nope . . no pool . . . . . .

Got a question though .

Can anybody tell me how this works:

The latest version of Google Earth added a layer for geotagged YouTube videos . So far, it seems like a lot of people are using this feature for documenting landmarks, attractions and live recordings of things like music, sporting events, backpacking trips, urban skateboarding, etc .

If you have a geospatially relevant video that you want to put on the map, it's pretty easy . Just upload your video to YouTube, open the "Date and Map Options" tab in the video information panel, and drag the marker to the correct location . You can zoom in to get a more precise location, or just enter the lat/lon manually with the following format: "geo:lat=yy . yyyy geo:lon=xx . xxxx" .

Where do I find the black bold-ed part?

I've looked all over the place and I cannot see it .

Do I look in YouTube or Google Earth for that?

I have a YouTube vid I want to install at a spot in Hemet, California . ( . com/watch?v=v_lw-sDc8RU" target="_blank">youtube . com)

I think you answered your own question. Or do you want to know where the video information panel is...
