| 811832 | 2009-09-19 05:52:00 | Hi, this is really a serious stuff. Yesterday when I last login to my email account (yahoo) before I left home from office. This afternoon I try to login to my email account from home and it keep saying my password is wrong. (Which I am sure not ! ) After few times I get rejected by yahoo, I thought I can reset my password, so I have gone through the profess of sending out the reset link to my alternate email address. I go to that alternate email address and try to login.. boom same decline.. my password is incorrect.. keep giving me this for few times and I was surprised why it is happening. Its worth mentioning here that both yahoo and alternate email a/c has same password. So i suspected my password has been compromised. I try login to other sites (trademe,pcworld) which has different user name and different password, It worked fine. So I came to conclusion that My Password has been Hacked. I desperately need my email account which I have since 1996 and it has all of my emails since then. So I try to reset my password (at yahoo) again by using my secret question, but opps ! my answer did not match. This confirms me that some how my password has been hacked. I have confirmed few things before making this question here. - Confirmed with my bank that there is no suspicious bank a/c entries - No suspicious credit card entries BUT My website is off line and I can not see the backend. Can not even log in to backend as my password does not work there either. Please advise what to do ? Yahoo locked me for 24 hours before I can do any more action. My alternate email password does not work My website has been locked and can not access I NEED MY EMAILS BACK |

Also Confirmed that I am not using Caps, by typing in to notepad Keyboard is working correct and typing correct pwd. Also I just try using my office PC to login and I have no success in log in to either of my email account ? what is next ? |

Good luck Majority of the search results in to yahoo help centre. Which is basic password recovery. Any other ideas please. |

| 811839 | 2009-09-20 23:22:00 | Have you tried help.yahoo.com there is the option there if you think you have been "hacked" I would say you are nearing the end of your options and have to get some contact with Yahoo although it may take sometime to get an answer.The system is in place to get you back on line but it will take time. |

I have started communication with yahoo but they reply with auto generated message. Email only describe usual method of resetting password. So I have re-email them and they I have not heard from them yet, So I believe they will actually 'Read' my email and do some action. I will keep posting the 'happenings' here. BUT If mean while some has any other ideas, please share. * Updated * I can confirm that A/c is HACKED because one of my friend in USA got call, some one pretending as 'me' and asking my friend some money. So I am sure that 'Fraudster' got in to my email a/c. Thankfully though, I have notified my bank and take actions against all my financial stuff (In time.. oops ! ) PLEASE ADVISE, WHAT SHOULD I DO NEXT |

| 811841 | 2009-09-22 01:07:00 | Have you tried using another PC to login to your email & website(worth a try) One of the PCs (or networks) you have be using may be infected/hacked (Of course , it may have been that your passwords are to simple) therefore: I would recommend you change ALL your passwords: online banking, other email a/cs, Internet a/c, itunes, web sites that you log onto, wifi passords. Better safe than sorry. |
