2017-12-13 22:21:00 | Did that Dave and got the Black Screen in image so clicked on File/open found the video clicked Open on it but nothing. 8520 The more we get into this the more I think this is exactly what happened last time which led me to running Movie Flash Player under WINE. I'm thinking there must be some way to make a short cut which includes Wine & Movie Flash Player? After all the command: env WINEPREFIX="/home/bob/.wine" wine C:\\Program\ Files\ \(x86\)\\Flash\ Movie\ Player\\fmp.exe opens the player so what we need to figure out is how to add open/Hervey\ Bay.swf Character building stuff this. :) P.S. Yes found gnash where you said and looks like the same three files you have so it is installed. Must be an add-on to the operating system?

2017-12-13 23:13:00 | It is a standalone player for shockwave files. If your files are not opening in it, perhaps they are not really shockwave flash files? Anyway you could try inputting the command for the WINE based player then a space and then the location of the file (don't put the open thing in it ) so: env WINEPREFIX="/home/bob/.wine" wine C:\\Program\ Files\ \(x86\)\\Flash\ Movie\ Player\\fmp.exe /home/bob/Desktop/Videos/Hervey\ Bay.swf

2017-12-13 23:30:00 | Well the player opened and it appears to be looking. I suspect we are down to a forward or back slash or a space. 8521

2017-12-13 23:51:00 | It is looking for a file called /home/bob did you input the complete path to the file? (part of it is hidden in the code box and requires you to scroll) env WINEPREFIX="/home/bob/.wine" wine C:\\Program\ Files\ \(x86\)\\Flash\ Movie\ Player\\fmp.exe /home/bob/Desktop/Videos/Hervey\ Bay.swf

2017-12-14 00:53:00 | Yes I fairly sure I have the complete path but this is the latest from many uneducated guesses. 8522 Note we now have Path not found from this command: env WINEPREFIX="/home/bob/.wine" wine C:\\Program\ Files\ \(x86\)\\Flash\ Movie\ Player\\fmp.exe \home/bob/Desktop/Videos/Hervy\ Bay.swf It's odd because we know the player can be opened from a shortcut and we know the Player can play the file, but getting it to do it in one command seems to be more difficult. I wonder if we need a pause of some sort between opening the player and looking for the file? I haven't tried your latest command yet so I'll do that now and get back.

2017-12-14 01:06:00 | env WINEPREFIX="/home/bob/.wine" wine C:\\Program\ Files\ \(x86\)\\Flash\ Movie\ Player\\fmp.exe \home/bob/Desktop/Videos/Hervey\ Bay.swf That's a Path Not Found too Dave. 8523 I'm fresh out of ideas. :)

2017-12-14 01:23:00 | env WINEPREFIX="/home/bob/.wine" wine C:\\Program\ Files\ \(x86\)\\Flash\ Movie\ Player\\fmp.exe \home/bob/Desktop/Videos/Hervey\ Bay.swf That's a Path Not Found too Dave. 8523 I'm fresh out of ideas. :) I'm not surprised that does not work, you have put a backslash \ at the front of the path it should be /home/bob/Desktop/Videos/Hervey\ Bay.swf

2017-12-14 02:13:00 | Oooops  Ok this is what we have now and all it does is open the player. No Messages. But if you go to open under the File Menu on the Player choose the Hervey Bay file it plays no problem. env WINEPREFIX="/home/bob/.wine" wine C:\\Program\ Files\ \(x86\)\\Flash\ Movie\ Player\\fmp.exe /home/bob/Desktop/Videos/Hervey\ Bay.swf 8524

2017-12-14 02:32:00 | I am sorry that my suggestion does not work, I hoped it might work that way, but obviously it does not. I do not know what else to suggest, perhaps you should try the WINE forum, or Mint forum. Also: The Gnash player has successfully opened and played all 4 .swf files that I have here for testing. Why it doesn't open your one makes me suspect it is not a standard .swf file Shockwave is a container that is specifically for Flash files, perhaps you have another format in the container?
