2017-12-01 21:30:00 | No, ghost-script is software for dealing with . pdf files, not a file type itself . . wikipedia . org/wiki/Ghostscript" target="_blank">en . wikipedia . org Have you tried printing something other than . pdf? Does the printer behave normally on these other file types? If it is with all file types, perhaps you should try going through all the settings in printer properties and see if you can spot the problem . Yes - I tried jpegs (in b&w) and Samsung Cloud, Amazon Cloud, Google Cloud It behaves somewhat normally - 1/2 tone usually - but that's a default somewhere I haven't found yet . I'll go through them all again this evening - closer to NZ's daytime - although it's tomorrow there . . When you first sent the file to the printer, (it was a . pdf, right?) Had you zoomed in on the file to make it bigger or adjusted it in some other way . Had you made any adjustments to colour-space or any other setting to do with printing? No zooming was involved - a screenshot or two were severely oddball and self-reset to landscape . Portrait would have been much better - and that 1/2 tone thing has to be resolved if the output is to be readable .

2017-12-01 22:16:00 | Sorry Joe, I can't be any further help on this, I don't know enough about the printing process to trouble-shoot an issue like this. Did you try the old shut everything down and reboot process?

2017-12-02 00:07:00 | Aha! Close and reopen Windows . . . . huh? Yeah - I've had a few reboots with a few more cold-starts and it doesn't seem to want to self- resolve . I have a Linux-nutcase neighbor - whom I don't really want to bother . He has knives, guns and it's rumored lots of explosive devices and isn't a really friendly sort . I'm not totally alone here in the Great Frozen North however ---- there are some other groups that meet at the library from time to time . If I catch them on a good cycle and they deign to speak to an L-n00b - well, who knows? But as it is, the printer iss working via Android and Samsung Cloud Print (free with the tablet) so I'm not totally devoid of printing devices at the moment . I even send a 'print command' from 40 miles away this AM and when I got home, the document was awaiting me .

I really think they are your next best option for help on this. |

2017-12-02 04:27:00 | Thanks, Dave. I was under the impression that Canon didn't offer any support for Linux users on their printers though. I'll call them on Monday. Again, thanks.

2017-12-02 05:21:00 | Thanks, Dave. I was under the impression that Canon didn't offer any support for Linux users on their printers though. I'll call them on Monday. Again, thanks. I see no reason why that should be the case Joe. You bought a printer that is Linux compatible, and installed the Canon driver for your OS. It will be pretty poor if they don't support you. Best of luck, I wish I could help further, but we all have a limit to our knowledge.
