Some people have said my mind is so open they can see right through me.

1442344 2018-01-18 08:55:00 What a saga! I'd decided on a Samsung Sl-C1810W Colour Laser Printer, so I ordered it from Warehouse Stationery for 1-2 day delivery plus a $50 gift card. 31/2 weeks later it still hadn't arrived, despite various conversations with helpful but useless customer service people. Eventually one told me there had been some major supplier logistics foul-up and they had no idea when it was going to arrive, so I cancelled the order - kept the gift card though. :) WSL credited the credit card 2 days later.

I decided there was no point in looking for one elsewhere as presumably I'd have the same problem, so I did a bit more research and ordered a Kyocera P5026cdn from Ascent Technology mid-morning on Monday and it arrived at 8:45 Tuesday morning. It cost me an extra $80 (if you take the gift card into account), but it is all looking good so far. Those extra toner cartridges make it considerably more bulky than the old device, but it still fits into the space. The old printer is still going, so I'll run that till it runs out of toner.

Confirms my view that Ascent are one of the best suppliers around, and it is worth paying a bit more for the great service.

I'm reconciled to cpp being higher than I've been used to, but while I haven't managed to find data for my particular model, Kyocera seem to be in the middle of the pack for costs.

Its a good start, but doesnt take into account ink wastage from auto cleaning cycles on inkjets .
That wastage can be 2x more than ink used in actual printing, based on tests by Consumer , on some printers

1442350 2018-01-22 04:29:00 Well, I've discovered one problem with the Kyocera - it is a real PITA trying to print envelopes. You have to make specific settings both in the print dialog and on the machine, and even then it is pretty iffy. I wrecked about 30 envelopes this afternoon until I got it about right, and even on the final run two of them jammed and I had to extricate them from the bowels of the machine. These are the same envelopes that ran through the Fuji with absolutely no trouble. I'm hoping there are some more tweaks I can do, or I shall have to look at labels instead.

carefull .
Ive seen many drum units needing repair (strip & clean) after labels or the glue stick to the drum. Thats the worst possible
scenario for a Kyocera
If you must, dont use generic label brands, get a good brand (Avery etc)
