| 1444099 | 2017-12-27 07:15:00 | You must see another Doctor for another opinion, soonest. Seems a little silly if you don't get blood pressure and heart checked regularly. Losing weight so quickly should be a concern to you so buddy, go and do it! | Bryan (147) | ||

| 1444102 | 2017-12-27 19:12:00 | it all started when I packed in smoking a couple months ago! It happens - I gave up for 6-7 years ages ago and 3 months later was in hospital not being able to breathe. Was diagnosed with asthma, which Dr's said was triggered by the sudden lack of nicotine. Apparently everyone has the gene that triggers asthma, but it takes a smack to the system to trigger it in some people. So that was nice. |

| 1444103 | 2017-12-27 19:38:00 | My doctor's an ********. He looked at my recent chest xrays and mumbled something completely unintelligible. At same time I had my neck xrayed and he didn't even comment on that regarding another issue. He never weighs me nor takes my blood pressure I had lung tests done ... not a single mention of anything they concluded. I only keep them on cos he's very local as is happy to subscribe almost whatever I ask for. Oh god. Now if that was a mechanic or plumber would you? My mum had the a*** doc, finally she ditched him. A Dr Harris. I could give you a list of rubbish he did. Now seeing a lady doc at same surgery but far better. prescribing anything is not always a good thing, that makes them a pill doc. And they usually don't check on side effects or such. Ask, and you can, to see the notes on xray, you can view the xray itself too, probably not that helpful though. Blood tests and pressure? I don't think you should every time, sure if checking on something, or it needs monitoring for some health reason, but just because? No. Also ask what the lung results said, read it yourself. And dump the doc.....ask for recommendations, not just who do they like, how the doc is, how they work, and such. |

Doctors are just like the rest of us, there are some who are far worse and some who are far better in both personal and business life. Just to add, if fru-ju's are all you can keep down then eat them, at least you are getting fluid and keeping your blood sugar levels up. Last time I couldn't keep anything down the doctor injected something straight into the stomach, it worked for me. BTW, the packing in smoking (don't take offence but I am assuming it was tobacco) around the time you became ill may just be a coincidence. |

| 1444105 | 2017-12-28 08:23:00 | Cheers, but sticking with same dr for now. Saw him today, got a better examination and diagnois which included stuff I didn't expect. Got some more meds which have already relieved some of my symptoms, and now really really looking forward to the curry I bought for this evening, having only eaten two apples and two yoghurts in the last four weeks. Main problems he's dealt with are my weight loss and dehydration, so all should be good within next few days. | Greg (193) | ||
| 1444106 | 2017-12-29 05:56:00 | Greg - with great concern I admonish you to get another doctor ASAP . I don't know how the rules are there in Upsidedown land - but I have to fight with the Veteran's Administration sometimes . I've learned some of the tricks to get them motivated - like calling my Congressman or Senator . But your situation doesn't sound good at all . Losing lots of weight is a sign of so many possible scenarios that I'm not even gonna go there on you . But it's YOUR BODY - so get motivated to get the best you can get . You need an advocate! Can you call your local King or Queen or sumpthing? How about a Duke or a Countess? |

| 1444107 | 2017-12-29 07:17:00 | Thanks Joe. Still coughing and puking my lungs and guts out and couldn't manage dinner last night, but waiting for the meds to kick in in another couple days. Then if no improvement I'll consider the damn inconvenience of finding a new doc. | Greg (193) | ||

But remember I worked in the health system, and coped with a husband dying. There is a lot that you are saying that raises alarm bells in my head (call that experience). Get another GP pronto -take a support person with you. Four ears hear more accurately than just two. And best wishes to you, but don’t stuff around. :) |
