| 1443371 | 2017-12-14 01:14:00 | Thanks. Yes good point about scaffolding. When I first started, at the NZ Post Office we had big telephone poles with heaps of cross arms. I used to love getting up and sitting on top arm. Because of injuries cant even use small step ladder now. So seems pointless looking at UHF, will have to get another seterlite box.... |

| 1443372 | 2017-12-14 11:51:00 | If you can give us more details of the satellite box you currently have we could probably help more. Need exact make/model. I can't see why you wouldn't be able to tune in the channels you want. I've helped many people do this. With the correct details it's possible to download most set top box manuals to get the relevant info. | Rod J (451) | ||
| 1443373 | 2017-12-14 20:38:00 | My Kaon-A3200 satellite box (www.dtvs.co.nz) will pick up Prime via Optus D1 satellite on channel 1000+, so Prime is still available via satellite. P. |

We have 2, Hills HSMX-200 receivers, government issue, many year ago. I tried to rest, using the menu's quite a few times. There is, I think, 3 or 4 channels missing including Prime, going by the EPG. Please send details in simple mode, as being unwell, dont help... |

| 1443375 | 2017-12-15 04:59:00 | Thanks Ian, I googled that info and found these discussions on the Freeview forum: freeviewforum.co.nz The above sounds pretty negative and the guy is really p**ssed about the Hills product, but I haven't read through all five pages yet. He is adament that the Hills HSMX-200 can't receive Prime in its new slot and reports that the Hills help line says as much. :( This thread sounds much the same but I'll have to do some research on what procedure is mentioned but isn't explained: freeviewforum.co.nz I'll see if I can find out more ... will report back later. |

Yes I did that too. One talked about deleting the satellite and reinstalling it. I be too scared to do that, cause if I stuffed it up wife go birkco...(crock). |

| 1443377 | 2017-12-15 20:31:00 | I found the following page on the Freeview forum which has comprehensive instructions for re-scanning the channels on your Hills STB: freeviewforum.co.nz If your satellite dish/LNB is a Freeview one (11300 frequency) it seems fairly straight forward. If you have an old Sky dish with their double choke transponder (works on 10750 frequency rather than the freeview default of 11300) it does involve starting from scratch by removing the settings for the satellite. So, yes it's a little risky but if you follow the instructions closely (suggest printing them out) it should be possible. Perhaps you have a relative/friend who's more confident doing this type of thing living nearby you could call on? |

| 1443379 | 2017-12-18 07:59:00 | Do yourself a favour ditch the obsolete Hills unit they were one of the original Freeview units. They are not really compatible anymore as they were not really setup for 3rd party supplied channel (Prime not officially delivered on Freeview transponder) . Go for a new box that has freeviewplus. | apsattv (7406) | ||

Yes we been thinking that. Wife had a look at some freeview plus boxes around the $170 mark, that we just cana afford and hoping for a good price reduction with the Christmas/New Year sales. Thanks |
