1442852 2017-11-30 08:32:00 Good luck. KarameaDave (15222)
1442853 2017-11-30 15:13:00 Got it running all nice and pretty . It's nice to be able to send a print job from tablets or desktop .

The tablet deal is new to me, but suffice it to say, it's nice to be able to print from my Androids . .

Just wondering . . . . . . . . . since the print command from tablet is via Wi-Fi, can I be anywhere with Wi-Fi and use it . . . . . like from down town or even (shudder) from Upsidedown Land?

1442854 2017-11-30 20:17:00 Not directly I don't think.
But it is compatible with Google Cloud Print.
I don't use it so know nowt about it.
Have a read of this:

1442856 2017-12-01 07:50:00 Today's a different problem .

Somehow the settings on the desktop-to-printer is all messed up .

For one, the printer just keeps on running sheet after sheet of paper until it runs out and then demands more paper until I unplug the thing and let it cool off . Well, not really 'cool off' but I let it rest while I pick up a few dozen sheets of paper on the floor .

Each printed page comes out as a one-line text as follows:

Unrecoverable error: rangecheck in . putdeviceprops

I'm also having troubles with printing from my tablets too .

I'm Google-ing to find an answer .

1442857 2017-12-01 08:52:00 Does it do this with all files you try to print or just one?
Google brings up many entries related to that error, but they vary a lot
some seem connected to .pdf files and some to ghost-script and others, this makes it hard to suggest a fix.
Maybe one of the manuals might help?

Otherwise I think you will need to consult the Ubuntu forums.

1442858 2017-12-01 18:16:00 "lf" "cr" or "pb" ghost scripts?

How do I find these ghost scripts?

The constant printing is only on the desktop via Wi-Fi.
SurferJoe46 (51)
1442859 2017-12-01 18:33:00 No, ghost-script is software for dealing with .pdf files, not a file type itself.

Have you tried printing something other than .pdf?
Does the printer behave normally on these other file types?
If it is with all file types, perhaps you should try going through all
the settings in printer properties
and see if you can spot the problem.

1442860 2017-12-01 19:01:00 When you first sent the file to the printer, (it was a .pdf, right?)
Had you zoomed in on the file to make it bigger or adjusted it in some other way.
Had you made any adjustments to colour-space or any other setting to do with printing?
