I have disabled all reporting and updating and there hasn't been a single nag or update or anything since the day of install. So he'll be happy. Good skills. And all the more reason for holdout luddites to upgrade from XP, & 7 |

I think not. I don't like the forced update business, especially when a lot of it is crud, nor the we will send your data back to MS, never mind it may be an option at present. To me it's like some guy turns up to your house, changes all the doors and windows every so often, and installs cameras in all your rooms. Only to keep you safe, of course. |

BUT just to refresh the ol memory :D - Its because its Microsoft- to bad about da others. ;) Any thing can be removed in W10, and the snooping stopped -- Just some things are incorporated into different programs (including the apps) and removing one thing can have an adverse effect of something else. Whats the best way to encourage some people to their real potential ?? -- Tell them something cant be done - it kind of "kick starts" them into proving you wrong. :D :D Sneaky eh ! |

| 1443593 | 2017-12-24 19:44:00 | Another reason (that I have mentioned before) to got to W10 is that this will be Microsoft's last OS, (just small upgrades to it.) Therefore if you or a friend buy a new PC or Laptop it will have W10 on it. So the sooner you get up to speed on it, the better. What if a friend needs some help from you? If we are all on the same OS it makes support and helping each other much easier. |

Went to install the persons Windows 8.1 -- Came up with a message saying the CPU is not fully supported, please install a newer Operating system (words to that effect) |
