| 1444184 | 2017-12-30 05:49:00 | That was easy :) A watt is a watt regardless of what's using it. 40W x 24h = 960W/H per day, round it up to 1KW/H and call it 25c a day or whatever you pay for power where you are. |

Simple fan cooling if positioned correctly is a great and economical way of cooling. My fan is located midway between an open window each in the lounge and kitchen, which causes a pleasant cool flow in what would otherwise be sauna-like temperatures in these two areas. |

| 1444191 | 2018-01-02 01:12:00 | If a fan is rated at 40 watts how can it be proved to show that it actually uses 40 watts? it might be the upper limit, rather than a constant output, so it may only use say 80% of it's (upper) rating. What about auto speeds, and manual lower, mid, and high speeds -which might also affect power output. | kahawai chaser (3545) | ||
