813579 2009-09-25 01:04:00 I bought a new ram card recently (1GB DDR RAM, PC1200, 266Mhz) for my Dell Optiplex GX260 (desktop), but I'm having some funny issues when I install it... my screen can't pick up a signal. However, when I remove the card again, everything works fine again.

Before I bought the card, I looked up my computers specifications to make sure it'd be compatible, and it gave me the all-clear. My two other ram cards are the exact same in description (DDR RAM, PC1200, 266Mhz), sooo... I've NO idea what's going wrong. Any clues?

Just tried that, but nothing... same problem. Also, I've noticed something odd... whenever I install the new card and switch the computer back on at the wall, my computer starts by itself straight after.

813582 2009-09-25 01:51:00 If you are absolutely sure that the RAM stick (it is not a card, by the way) is of the same type as currently in the computer, try removing all of the current sticks and put the new one in Slot 1 .

If the problem/s still remain then it is likely that you have a faulty stick . Return to the seller for an exchange or refund .

Some motherboards are fussy about which slots are used . Check the motherboard manual for specific instructions .
