684318 2008-07-03 09:34:00 Hi guys, interesting thread this one. I thought it was just me, but its reassuring to know that others are also not happy with the mag. My subscription is up for renewal soon, and I will not be continuing. I support what others have said above, and also I agree, APC is an excellent mag, (with a great DVD as wel!) and I will be giving my ever decreasing recreational dollar to them now. I'd like to support local, but NZPCW has become very average. For me the final straw was having Ubuntu 8.04 on the cover disc again, is it just me, or was'nt Hardy on the disc a few months back? I am sure the 8.04 version I am using on here was from a NZPCW cover disc? I could be wrong....:yuck: NZMacka (11756)
684319 2008-07-03 09:34:00 I criticised the mag several months ago and got jumped on by several readers. Seems now others are comming around to my way of thinking. I don't buy it anymore. I prefer some of the OZ mags. JJJJJ (528)
684320 2008-07-03 10:06:00 Things are not what they were on the Mag front. Isn't it possible to leap back and restore the style of a few years ago? (i.e. pre Fairfax.)
Then, it was one of the best PC magazines available, now it seems to be aiming for a vaguely epsilon minus readership. A great pity.

To me it still had hope, but May and June just squashed that hope lol.
I will be another supermarket browser until something changes.

684322 2008-07-03 12:03:00 Have you thought of letting them know, maybe writing a letter to the editor. The people making the decisions probably don't read this.I know some newspaper companies are cutting back staff, could be this one not sure, but when they do that, it kind of removes that 'local' feeling to the contents. robbyp (2751)
684323 2008-07-03 13:29:00 Yea, thats why I was wondering if it changed due to the survey they had earlier. rob_on_guitar (4196)

684325 2008-07-09 08:33:00 Not sure if you guys have seen this months Aussie PC Authority? I purchased today for some software on the DVD (located inside the mag - not on the cover which IMO is a much better idea) and was pleasantly surprised at the content. Cost of the mag, less than 10 bucks NZD. My NZ PC World subs will be going to them from next month. Its a shame, as I really want to support a NZ PC mag. NZMacka (11756)
684326 2008-07-09 09:02:00 Speaking of subs... I subscribed online on 30 June... Just realised that the card I used will bounce now because I used it for something else after that and haven't topped it up.... Will someone tell me this eventually? the_bogan (9949)
684327 2008-07-09 20:49:00 epsilon minus readership

For some of us who's got no clue what you are talking about - what does this mean?
