684308 2008-07-03 04:01:00 People don't tend to ask what I do for a hobby - if they did it would be walking the dog, listening to music, skiing and windsurfing, cleaning up stuff around the house.

Do I find watching financial results boring - not when they keep going up (unless there is a fuel crisis on)

684309 2008-07-03 04:15:00 what the hell is in it for you?

do you have a buttload of shares in apple?

or are you waiting for your collection of vintage MAC's to be worth something?

No but I wish I did. They are shares worth having. :)
I only have one iMac which is definitely not an antique.

If you ever say the movie Forrest Gump - near the end when the Lieutant gave him a stack of shares in that "coloured fruit company" which was actually just before they went public in about 1977 or so - I think Forrest got about $16,000,000 for his shares.

684311 2008-07-03 04:34:00 So why do you care so much?

And why do you push it on to us when you know that none of us like them... howsabout you show some actual personality, and let them go. Contribute outside of iCrap

Give up now, Before your brain starts to hate you. There is no light at the end of the tunnel you just entered.

To a crazy person, the voices are very real.

684314 2008-07-03 05:52:00 I just had a look at the mag in the supermarket, no WinXPsp3 on the DVD, I don't get it, I remember someone posting that it would be included on the July issue.

Surely this is the sort of thing that should be on the disk, it isn't, so I didn't buy the mag.

I don't know anyone on PressF1 in person, I am on dial-up so can't download it easily, although I will if no other sources make themselves obvious in the next couple of weeks. Wake up PressF1 mag staff, you will sell one more mag if you put it on the disk.

684315 2008-07-03 06:38:00 On the actual SUBJECT of the mags contents - its interesting how some of the advertising is worded - Who actually allows what could be possibly classed as false advertising ?

What am I ranting about :angry Now while there is a very strong anti Norton products here (Reasons we all know already) - at least the mag got it right this time

Take Page 13 (unlucky for some) The New and improved Norton 360 V2.0 - take the advertising bull--- "But most of the time you'd hardly know it's there" ( really - yeah right??)

Now jump to page 38 - Awhhh A review on 360 V2.0 --- Results, (second to last paragraph) " Norton Slowed the pace by an average of 8.3% on a fairly beefy desktop PC, and by an average of 7% on a less-powerful Laptop. Results varied greatly from task to task: Disk intensive tests slowed performance by up to 30%, other tasks weren't hindered at all.

30% Holy slowness batman - yet it advertises " hardly know its there"

684316 2008-07-03 07:25:00 " hardly know its there"

Lol - you won't even notice the huge green and yellow NORTON graphic taking up half your taskbar space... :D

684317 2008-07-03 08:50:00 As a long term subscriber, since Issue 2 I think, I agree they seem to have lost the plot over the last few months, July issue is a little bit better though.

Reminds me of that wonderful magazine Electronics Australia before it was taken over by a new editor, after which it became a manufactures glossie. No wonder it folded a few issues later. All to the benefit of Silicon Chip, which has become the default EA.
