Sometimes we need to take our blinkers off and read what is actually written, not what we think should be written.
Each of us is entitled to their/ our own opinion and have preferences, and i think by now we should know that most PF1 people do have distinct preferences, pushing for one or the other isnt go to change that so why do we always argue about it?

684754 2008-07-05 03:41:00 VS / WMG, Im really bored of your remarks and pushing your ideals onto everybody else here.

As has been said, its not Macs that the rest of us hate, its fanboys like you

You have a perm-ban against your name already, so it would be in my best interests to enforce that.
That said Im a nice young fella with a heart of gold and believe in second chances.
With that in mind though, you dont appear to have changed, and Im bored, banning you might just be what I need to brighten both my day and the day for many other PF1'ers here who are quite sick of you.

Final warning before no mercy is shown, understand?

684755 2008-07-05 04:09:00 JOEJG actually made the mention of Macs in post #4 after Safari mentioned that this is a NZ based site. All I did was mention the pricing options (thus answering the question)- then everyone else saw that I had mentioned Macs and their prices and jumped in boots and all - and yes I chose to respond to some of the more barbed posts.

I did also include the option of a Vista laptop or desktop if that is what JOEJG would prefer and that is about as "balanced" as I can get, baring in mind that the original request was for a laptop (platform not specified) and a price bracket was given.

684756 2008-07-05 05:03:00 #1 - Macs fall outside of the price bracket. If the user wanted a 2nd hand laptop, they'd look on eBay
#2 - Its safe to assume when somebody asks for a laptop they want a Windows laptop. I much prefer Linux, but lets be honest, if somebody asks for a laptop we can also assume they *dont* want it to be runing Linux, MacOS, BSD, or anything else... Unless its an EeePC which is the exception to the rule.

You fail.

684758 2008-07-05 13:07:00 JOE what is the model you are replacing and which version of the OS were you on?
Ignore the anti Mac sentiment on the forum.
The MacBooks start at 699 pounds unless you go for Apple refurbished or a PC laptop with Vista.
Currently it doesn't work. I've had it repaired at least half a dozen or so times before and mainly due to the graphics card causing the problems. I would have to pay over 100 pounds to get it fixed when it just might work for a few months or so then will play-up again. So I would rather treat myself and get an even better one whilst hoping it'll be more of an ease to control.

Atm:

Mesh
Mobile AMD Sempron (tm)
Processor 3000+
1.8GHz, 448MB of RAM
Physical Address Extension
Windows XP
SP2

Note: I'm not after a gaming genius, I won't be playing any games on it.

684759 2008-07-05 20:43:00 In that case go for a suitable Windows laptop then. vitalstatistix (9182)
