| 684742 | 2008-07-04 03:57:00 | I await a Safari rebuttal. Safari doesn't bug me nearly as much as winmacguy does, he's off the hook today. As for WMG, let's see if he replies to the above. I'm in the mood for an argument! |

I just don't have the patience to argue with someone who is completely irrational! :p Pretty sure OP is going to get one helluva fright when he comes back and sees his thread! Lol. |

| 684746 | 2008-07-04 04:51:00 | Hmmm, well my sincerest apologies to the OP for assisting in the derailing of his / her thread. Although I do agree, this isn't the best place to ask about computer prices in the UK. | Erayd (23) | ||
| 684747 | 2008-07-04 18:43:00 | Yeah, but at least I know more about MAC now, I think. xD I'm just trying for a decent one, so I guess my choice is ok? I know £500 is a lot especially if it doesn't last long, but though I'm glad its not going to be £1,000 plus, haha. I really want to be ordering it within the next few days anyway. |

Your recommendation is therefore utterly pointless. And if you say macbooks start at £700, they are obviously not cheaper or even equivalent to the prices of PC laptops. |

| 684750 | 2008-07-05 03:09:00 | Just FYI - Looking at the above Magnum Mac link ( www.magnummaconline.co.nz ), you can buy a PC for less than half the price of the the iMac 20... Bigger HDD, bigger screen (22" Widescreen at qmb.co.nz ), not quite as good graphics card I believe, but its half the price still ;) Again, debunking the myth that iMacs are comparitively priced to regular machines. Perhaps a google might point you in the direction of local UK retailers, we're kind of detached here in NZ ;) |

And if you say macbooks start at £700, they are obviously not cheaper or even equivalent to the prices of PC laptops. That would depend of if it was a desktop or a laptop that he is after and whether he wants to have a look at Apple refurbished which are reduced in price compared to new Macs. If he would prefer a £500 PC running <cough> Vista then go for it. You don't get iLife with Vista. :p |
