| 683985 | 2008-07-01 15:06:00 | Generally I've had problems at LAN parties, people not being able to connect to a server, going crazy until they exit the game and find a nice window in the background saying "Windows firewall has blocked this program . would you like to unblock it?" And it generally doesn't come up straight away either - so I prefer firewalls that instantly tell you something is trying to connect somewhere, and what would you like to do rather than just block it straight away and then tell you later "oh yeah we blocked that, now you know why it wasn't working the whole time" kind of thing . Hmmmmm . . . OK . . fair be it . . but I've never attended a LAN party . Yacht parties, beach parties, CB parties, private parties, graduation parties (years ago), wedding parties . . but none of them are bothered by my Windows firewall . . . go figger! Seriously though . . . that kinda blocking is new to me . . . maybe I don't do enuff risky stuff . |
